Title: Weatherization Coordinator $58,656 - $65,000 / Posted Thru: 12-16-24 Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Live and Work in Michigan In-State Travel Required Purpose: This position will serve as the Weatherization Coordinator reporting to the MiTEC Manager to support the Weatherization Manager and the Executive Director of the BCAEO by providing weatherization support with educational/training activities. This position is responsible for developing and implementing statewide approaches to improve the performance within the weatherization assistance program and the network of operators. This may be completed by working directly to improve program management of the weatherization program with agencies both virtually and in person.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the collection, compilation, and the assembly of a statewide repository of weatherization resources, material, documents, best practices, procedures, and final approved curriculum used in the training.
- Responsible for the development of additional statewide material for energy efficiency and water conservation.
- Coordinate and conduct weatherization program management to improve agency performance.
- Provide onsite assistance across the state as needed.
- Assist in updates, maintenance, and training of weatherization policies as necessary for IREC accreditation.
- Check for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and format of material.
- Organize, maintain, and/or purge files, documents, and/or printed material.
- Develop and maintain SharePoint pages.
- Maintain the electronic storage of all resources collected and created.
- Retrieve and organize documents for requests by auditors by the assigned due date to demonstrate the work completed
- Provide general support such as managing/operating video conferencing meetings/trainings, preparing multimedia documents for weatherization, sending reminders, providing/generating monthly management reports, issuing materials, project coordination, scheduling events and securing locations, and responding to calls and emails as assigned.
- Act as the primary coordinator to support a team in the developments and updates of classes including the creation of PowerPoint presentations, instructor's guides, and student resources. This includes attending meetings, tracking progress of curriculum class development, researching topics and resources to enhance classes, coordinating tasks for the team, reviewing/preparing/distributing material, exploring best practices, planning agendas/educational materials, and maintaining official course material.
- Assist in preparing, designing, storyboarding, and implementing classroom material for instructors to use to teach comprehensive and specific classes.
- Complete tasks by coordinating with other team members and/or contractors; instructors, weatherization specialists, weatherization analysts, instructional curriculum developers, and writers as needed.
- Focus on researching and summarizing information based on weatherization projects, energy efficiency and water conservation methods for single household homes, multifamily dwellings, and shelters, and supporting team activities.
- Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: Experience in word processing, multimedia, internet, and communication. Knowledge in word processing, editing, composing correspondences, planning, organizing, project management, coordinating with a group of people, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, and/or presentation software will be helpful. Important Skills and Characteristics:
- Working knowledge of technology, graphic design, video editing, website, you tube videos, apps, and multimedia creation.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Frequently performs duties under stressful conditions, i.e., heavy workloads, tight deadlines, and confidential materials. Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment. It will also involve viewing a CRT or VDT screen 60% to 85% of the time and the use of other standard office environment. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, smartphones, tablets, and web technology. This position will require the Weatherization Coordinator to support mobile staff members, located at home office sites, satellite locations, and other spaces as required. Travel: Travel throughout the state to the training center satellite locations and partner facilities will be required. In addition, travel to conferences and other state and out-of-state events may be required.
