Job Summary

This position creates science lab kits for students, following directions that are predetermined. Daily tasks require counting, measuring amounts of supplies, and packaging for delivery to the student. May also assist in the storing, unpackaging, and organizing of materials that are delivered for contents of the kits .

Essential Functions

25% - Reads, interprets, and follows established written kit production and packaging procedures in order to ensure accuracy and consistency of science lab kits
15% - Follows verbal directions
15% - Follows established safety procedures for kit production, as well as for the cleaning, disposal, and storage of lab equipment and materials
15% - Works effectively and efficiently with limited supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner; takes inventory of lab materials
10% - Familiar with names and uses of common lab materials and science equipment, as well as common lab safety procedures
10% - Measures small quantities of chemicals an electronic balance
10% - Works with unpacking, storing, and handling kit materials, lab equipment and other lab supplies

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working individually and as part of a team.

Special Working Conditions

May be required to move and lift 20 lbs. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to primarily non-toxic substances.
