Payroll Administrative Specialist - IL Lisle

Position Description:


Ryerson has an opportunity for a Payroll Administrative Specialist. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrative Specialist will be responsible for various payroll-related duties.

Roles and Responsilbities
* Processes weekly and bi-weekly payrolls (hourly & salaried), including information related to new hires, terminations, salary continuances, garnishments, and bonus & incentive payments.
* Maintains payroll database, including program modifications, additions, and/or deletions to earnings/deductions fields.
* Responds to day-to-day employee inquiries accurately using strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
* Works with Benefits teams to ensure accurate benefits deductions and record keeping.
* Maintain and help users with the Time & Attendance system during payroll processing.
* Reconciles pay cycle.
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.


Position Requirements:


* High school diploma
* Minimum of 3 years of automated payroll processing experience for a multi-state organization, with basic knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws and payroll-related accounting principles.
* Experience with SAP payroll strongly preferred.
* Excellent Microsoft Office and internet skills required.
* Strong written and verbal skills are essential; must possess ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
* Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Must be capable of multi-tasking and working independently as well as in a team environment.
* Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in all matters related to employee compensation and benefits.
