Summary of Position
This position serves as a member of the UNH Housing Occupancy Management Team and has responsibility for many department-wide processes and systems. The position manages the day-to-day use of StarRez (housing occupancy management system) by UNH staff and works closely with campus and USNH partners on large-scale StarRez projects and initiatives. This position has direct, front-line customer service responsibilities through the supervision and management of the UNH Housing front desk and student staff. The position also provides assistance with housing cancellations, exemption requests, occupancy-related partnerships, and other similar tasks.

Job Duties


Duty/Responsibility

  • Responsible for day-to-day management of UNH Housing and UNH Residential Life's use of StarRez Residential Community Management Software.
  • This includes working closely with USNH Enterprise Technology & Services (ET&S), to coordinate the development and management of StarRez for the housing portal, housing applications, room selection, student leader and employment applications, maintenance requests, summer conferences, occupancy reporting, online forms, and more.
  • Ensure functionality and ease of use/user interface of Housing Portal and StarRez.
  • Work with Housing and Residential Life to maintain data integrity in StarRez according to University guidelines.
  • Provide training and ongoing assistance/guidance to UNH staff and students in use of StarRez and the Housing Portal, to include utilizing independent thinking in diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Provide occasional after-hours and weekend assistance during major housing seasons, including semester move-in and move-out time periods.



Duty/Responsibility

  • Manage the UNH Housing front desk and associated front-line customer service.
  • Hire, train and supervise approximately 10 student employees who staff the front desk and provide housing-related services, such as key loaners/lockouts, answering phones, and providing assistance and direction to individuals who come into the office.
  • Stay current with university and department processes/policies, as well as anticipate seasonal activity, to instruct student front desk team on all pertinent information.
  • Schedule regular meetings with staff team, both as a group and individually, and help to develop students in various skill sets.
  • Manage student staff flow of work and prepare tasks for student staff to perform when at the front desk.



Duty/Responsibility

  • Provide on-going assistance with occupancy-related processes, including reviewing cancellation requests, inactive student report, and housing requirement exemptions.
  • Processes approvals, denials, and cancellations for students on these lists.
  • Working with multiple University departments (Residential Life, Housing, Registrar, Student Accounts, Dean of Students, Study Abroad, etc.) and data systems (i.e. Banner, StarRez), confirm students' status with university to determine approvals.
  • Apply fees to student financial accounts as appropriate.



Duty/Responsibility

  • Serve as departmental point-of-contact and representative for various partnerships and services, including the United States Census, Roomie (3D room models and item purchasing), and StarRez.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
