Position description

Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist, Brain Tumor Center - Department of Neurological Surgery, UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Health

The Brain Tumor Center (BTC) at UCSF is recruiting a faculty Rehabilitation Neuropsychologist to provide clinical neuropsychological services within the Division of Neuropsychology and Behavioral Sciences as part of the Department of Neurological Surgery. This role will provide neuropsychological assessment and cognitive rehabilitation, as well as related health psychology interventions to support the unique needs of the brain tumor patient and their loved ones served by our department. This role would primarily focus on improving the quality of life of patients and their loved ones by addressing the complex interplay of cognitive, emotional, and neurological sequelae common to this population through the use of evidenced based cognitive rehabilitation and health psychology interventions. The position is embedded within the Neurocognitive Care Service at the UCSF Brain Tumor Center, candidates should have demonstrated proficiency in neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation, individual/group intervention, cancer care, and providing evidence-based health psychology interventions.

Qualified candidates will possess a PhD or PsyD degree (or equivalent degree), two years of postgraduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology, experience working with cancer populations, experience providing neuropsychological assessments, cognitive rehabilitation, and health psychology interventions to medical populations, and complete requirements for medical staff credentialing at the time of appointment. A current license to practice Psychology in the state of California is required. Additional preferred qualifications include Board Certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Clinical Neuropsychology, teaching/mentoring experience, and individuals who are multi-lingual with competencies to provide neuropsychological evaluations for non-English populations (written and spoken proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin is particularly desirable). The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 - $393,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
