I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Under the direction of the department management, coordinates a variety of administrative assignments. Ensures timely processing and documentation for various administrative programs.
2. Maintains databases and spreadsheets to capture information for various assignments and reporting purposes. Reconciles data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Researches and resolves all data gaps.
3. Provides administrative support for the department and for projects which may include arranging meetings and conferences, producing a variety of correspondence and reports, and related clerical support duties including, but limited to, receiving phone calls and messages, ordering, copying, filing, faxing, and opening, sorting and distributing department mail.
4. May serve as subject matter expert for the department policies and procedures.
5. Ensures adequate inventory of office supplies and basic maintenance of office equipment. Coordinates the timely repair of office equipment. Ensures basic set up and maintenance of office personal computers and associated equipment. Ensures timely service.
6. May assist with orientation of new members of the department.

2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
3. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
5. Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
6. Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
7. Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. High school degree or equivalent

Preferred:
1. Associate's degree

Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Minimum two (2) years of related department administration experience
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills
3. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills
4. Previous experience with database software
5. Ability to use standard computer software packages and applications

Preferred:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

home health/hospice experience beneficial; medical admin experience
