POSITION TITLE

Machinist, Corporate Engineering

POSITION OVERVIEW

A skilled machine shop technician is someone who can make parts for a manufacturing facility. Should be able to interpret designs, cut and shape metal into parts and complete assembles. Have in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, a good eye for detail and the ability to visualize make components.

This role reports to the Senior Engineering Services Manager. The work schedule is primarily Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Read and interpreting blueprints, designs, and CAD drawings

* Make parts to tolerances

* Design fixtures to aid in fabrication for parts

* Set up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines

* Fit and assemble when necessary

* Conduct test runs of processes

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

* Background in machine tooling

* Experience working as a tool and die maker.

* In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs

* Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, mills, grinders, and lathes

* Attention to details

* Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions

* Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and written

* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, planning and time-management skills
