Job Summary:
The Clinical Consultant supports the Lead Clinical Consultant in the provision of Targeted Technical Assistance (TA) and Clinical Case Consultation for the Refugee and Migrant Behavioral Health Technical Assistance Center. This role is instrumental in delivering high- quality services to providers in collaboration with the Provider Outreach Specialist.
Essential Functions:
Deliver Clinical Case Consultation (CCC) Service
Offer Targeted TA and Coaching Service
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of targeted TA and coaching for providers by developing a tailored Provider Service Plan based on provider intake and assessment.
- Offer foundational and advanced training and coaching support, based on provider intake and assessment, on relevant and topical matters, long- or short-term coaching on matters such as addressing substance use and mental health issues; supporting survivors of gender-based violence, human trafficking, child abuse, providing trauma-informed, culture-sensitive care.
- Assist in building and delivering trainings addressing strengths, resiliency-based approaches, cultural humility for staff, management, and providers, best practices for working with interpreters, developing policies and protocols on behavioral health issues, implementing new treatment and early intervention practices for working with recently arrived refugee and migrant people, or assessing suicide.
- Aid providers in addressing processes to use when changing existing practices such as new clinic screening, best practices for accessing/using interpreter services, or introducing a refugee and migrant-specific case manager for a hospital, developing new service approaches to working with diverse populations such as LGBTQI+ community or serving individuals with disabilities.
Team Collaboration and Support
- Work with the Provider and TA Coordinator and the Provider Outreach Specialist staff to provide culturally sensitive and evidence-based interventions and activities.

Skills and Knowledge Required
- Strong understanding of the behavioral health ecosystem.
- Experiences in a behavioral health setting, especially in clinical services for R/M
- This position requires the individual to be trained in programs, practices, and policies that are recovery- oriented, trauma-informed, and equity-based to improve behavioral health.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field with active clinical licensure or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years' clinical practice, with a focus on refugees/migrants.
- This position requires the individual to be trained in programs, practices, and policies that are recovery- oriented, trauma-informed, and equity-based to improve behavioral health.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
Work Environment:
General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer uses at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.
