Nov 29, 2024
OverviewResearch Internships at Microsoft provide a dynamic environment for research careers with a network of world-class research labs led by globally-recognized scientists and engineers, who pursue innovation in a range of scientific and technical disciplines to help solve complex challenges in diverse fields, including computing, healthcare, economics and the environment. We are seeking Research Interns to work with the team in Microsoft Research (MSR) that is transforming the way scientific research is performed. You will join the effort and develop solutions that help achieve its goals, in collaboration with researchers and engineers in the lab. This is a 12-week summer Research Internship in the Microsoft Research Redmond lab that goes beyond the traditional Research Internship in that it may include a significant engineering component as well. We are at a pivotal moment where MSR is aiming to lead a transformative revolution in artificial intelligence (AI)-driven research. To deliver on this bold ambition, we are launching the AI Transformation initiative, which seeks to revolutionize scientific research by empowering research teams to seamlessly integrate AI into their work. Success will equip these teams with the resources they need to be more productive, increase their research velocity, and maximize their impact in driving innovation forward. We want you to help us realize this vision.
ResponsibilitiesResearch Interns put inquiry and theory into practice. Alongside fellow doctoral candidates and some of the world's best researchers, Research Interns learn, collaborate, and network for life. Research Interns not only advance their own careers, but they also contribute to exciting research and development strides. During the 12-week internship, Research Interns are paired with mentors and expected to collaborate with other Research Interns and researchers, present findings, and contribute to the vibrant life of the community. Research internships are available in all areas of research, and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer.
