Responsibilities

Process Improvement Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promoting a Safe Work Environment
  • Responsible for leading Continuous Improvement Initiatives at the plant level to drive CI at a high level
  • Position will provide leadership, planning, technical direction, communication and coaching skills to ensure safe production of high quality food safe products to meet customer needs in the most cost effective manner
  • Assure all personnel are adequately trained in true root cause analysis, analyzes statistical data to insure process control and improvements are part of the teams core competencies
  • Gather, analyze, and present company performance data to properly identify opportunities for improvements related to plant goals and to insure repeatable process systems
  • Be able to lead multiple, cross functional and/or cross departmental projects and initiatives and balance the needs of each according to business impact
  • Provide direction in the development and implementation of data collection and analysis
  • Guide and direct members of other departments in implementing changes to improve performance
  • Communicate project(s) status to sponsors, stakeholders
  • Prepares information in a manner that is easily understood, implemented and maintained to create an environment that encourages and rewards teamwork and collaboration, both internally and externally
  • Promoting and developing good relationships and high morale among production employees, supervisors and facility teams
  • Assisting and guiding supervisors through the Safety investigation/reporting process
  • Maintaining a good working relationship between all company departments as well as USDA and equipment vendors
  • Understanding and adhering to product and customer specifications and expectations
  • Understanding and adhering to the following programs
    • Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs)
    • Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCPs)
  • Must be able and willing to travel to other plants to work on projects
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position. This is a safety sensitive position.



Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Process Improvement Manager position should possess the following:

  • Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in managerial/process role
  • Proven leadership experience in a team environment
  • Staff management experience
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently
  • Excellent work ethic, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to make good business decisions quickly
  • Must be able to manage projects to a successful conclusion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening/comprehension skills
  • Ability and desire to stay composed and objective
  • Willingness and availability to work any shift
  • Would prefer exposure and understanding of the methodologies including but not limited to 6 sigma, 5S, Lean, OEE, and other.
