The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Department of Medicine - Division of Geriatric and Palliative Care Medicine is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Inpatient Palliative Care Services located Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Froedtert Hospital and Froedtert and Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center The APP in this position will work in collaboration with palliative care physicians and other palliative care team members, to deliver palliative care and related health care services to patients and families. They will assist in the coordination of care for patients seen by the Community Health Division Palliative Care Consultation Service in the inpatient setting. Core Responsibilities
Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing Minimum Requirements: Advanced Practice Nurse Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Wisconsin RN License Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License Adult Care NP and/or Geriatric NP preferred. Will consider certification as Acute Care NP and/or Family Practice NP. Additional Certification in hospice/palliative care or oncology nursing, preferred. AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, DEA Physician Assistant Wisconsin Physician Assistant License Certification by NCCPA AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, DEA Preferred Experience: Five years prior experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse is preferred with at least 1-2 years in a clinic or hospital environment working with palliative care, hospice care, or hematology/oncology patients preferred.
