Job Description

The Capital Markets business at FIS is a $3bn high growth segment delivering leading edge solutions to the world's biggest Investment Banks, Asset Managers & Hedge Funds, Private Capital, Lending, Insurance and Risk Management firms.

The variety of projects is massive - more than 2,000 people are implementing 50+ products in 100+ countries from 40+ locations. We are deploying on premise solutions as well as public or private cloud and SaaS products. Overall, we are running ca. 5,000 projects every given day and every year we touch around 9,000 projects from a couple of days efforts to several thousand to meet or exceed our clients' objectives.

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Management Executive to lead & develop our growing Project Management Practice. The ideal candidate must have experience in setting up and driving a function that comprises a team of commercial Program & Project Managers.

JOB DESCRIPTIONGeneral Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for driving adoption of best practice project management methodologies.
  • Makes timely, informed decisions and communicates rationale with factual accuracy and clarity.
  • Builds organizational structure to meet business as well as clients' goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes management reports and implement strategies to improve overall project and project management performance.
  • Identifies & drives transformational change in the Project Management Practice.
  • Provides timely updates to the Division Executive on issues, mitigations and actions.
  • Manages staff utilization, schedules and performance standards.
  • Contributes to divisional revenue and forecasting objectives.
  • Collaborates with other leaders throughout FIS - especially sales and business.
  • Works with FIS talent acquisition to recruit people of high calibre and e embraces a high performance culture.
  • Coaches, motivates and guides performance of others creating an effective team environment.
  • Sets appropriate standards of behavior and leads by example, addresses performance and behavioral issues in a timely and professional manner and recognizes, appreciates and leverages strengths of others to accomplish company objectives.
  • Establishes, maintains and fully utilizes a team of qualified professionals by recruiting ahead of needs & motivating staff to reach full potential.
  • Actively contributes to FIS programs - especially around delivery acceleration and faster time-to-value.
  • Understands and adheres to FIS policies and procedures, as well as governing laws and regulations.
  • Adapts to changing business circumstances with appropriate actions and positive attitude.
  • Drives employee engagement.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING

The successful candidate will have a transformational track record as a Program and Project Management Leader within a Professional Services Organization or Large Consulting Firm, ideally with experience in consulting within the financial services vertical. This leader will have proven ability to execute flawlessly and drive/motivate others to do the same.

Specific competencies and experiences include:

  • Demonstrable experience of setting up a Project/Program Management function from scratch in a commercial environment.
  • 20+ years of Project & Program Management in client-facing Financial Services roles.
  • Track record of successful team management.
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Fee engagements & their commercial implications.
  • Strong commercial mind-set.
  • Ability to troubleshoot over-running projects & programs.
  • Demonstrable budget management experience for a project management function.
  • Ability to understand data and communicate the impacts both to senior management and direct reports.
  • Ability to make tough and quick decisions.
  • Project management, productivity, planning, and workload management skills - strong focus on resourcing strategies.
  • Pragmatic & timely approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to coach and develop staff.
  • Experience in working in a complex matrix environment.
  • Demonstrable leadership, management, organizational, and team building skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with C-level management, peers and others.
  • Listening skills and ability to ensure open and candid two-way communication.
  • Ability to expresses both facts and opinions clearly and concisely.
  • Negotiation skills regarding complex issues.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $180,500.00 - $303,250.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
