Full Time - 0.8 FTE

Shift:

  • 4, 8-hour shifts
  • Call 1 night/week + every 4th weekend
  • Will float to ambulatory to assist with admission/discharges as needed

Responsibilities

About the Endoscopy Unit:

  • The unit features advanced imaging and monitoring technology, staffed by specialized providers, nurses, and techs who ensure patient safety, comfort, and precise outcomes.
  • The team also manages food bolus cases and various other procedures, typically performed in Endo, the OR, or ICU.

Duties:

  • Conduct pre-procedure assessments to evaluate the patient's medical history, vital signs, and any potential risk factors. Prepare patients for their endoscopy procedures, ensuring they understand pre-procedure instructions and addressing any question or concerns.
  • Monitor patients in the recovery area following their endoscopy procedures, assessing for any adverse reactions or complications. Provide post-discharge instructions and education, ensuring patients understand medication guidelines, activity restrictions, and follow-up care.
  • Assist in the preformance of procedures like colonoscopies, bronchoscopies, EGDs, and ERCPs using flexible, camera-equipped instruments to diagnose and treat conditions in internal cavities and organs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current BLS
  • ACLS, Procedural Sedation Class, and Basic Rhythm Interpretation completed within the first 3 months of hiring.
