Join us as our Lead Operator - Packaging

This position works under limited supervision and is primarily responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supervising the activities of the team ensuring individual member goals are achieved in support of assigned team goals.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Managing cycle counts and physical inventory while ensuring accuracy.
• Performing and overseeing SAP transactions, maintaining process records, and conducting clean-up.
• Coordinating document control functions, including procedures and required documentation.
• Participating in meetings and safety programs to communicate changes effectively.
• Assessing employee performance in collaboration with the Supervisor.
• Scheduling and assigning tasks to Operators, while monitoring performance and providing coaching.
• Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance on room design and equipment procurement.
• Coordinating capacity planning to meet customer needs effectively.
• Implementing continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Managing departmental purchasing and vendor relationships for maintenance and supplies.

To succeed you must hold:

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to effectively communicate oral and written information and respond to questions from managers and other employees in a professional manner.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to manage conflict within a crew.
• Fully trained in all production areas of responsibility.
• Ability to read, follow, and train others on work instructions.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process.
• Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and ERP system (SAP preferred).
• Know how to read and interpret process flow diagrams looking for potential improvements.
• Possess working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their application.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Shows initiative to improve work processes or question the status quo.
• Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift.
• Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
• These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with at least three years' experience in a production environment.
