OverviewThe Core Search and AI team is the leading applied machine learning team at Microsoft responsible for delivering the highest-quality search experience to over hundreds of millions monthly active users around the world in Microsoft's search engine, Bing and other dependent search engines such as Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and startups like Neeva. We are responsible for the largest machine learning models at Microsoft by volume and take pride in being the first in the world to solve many practical AI at Scale challenges.As a Principal Applied Scientist in Core Search and AI team, you will be working on cutting-edge machine learning and LLM technology to improve online engagement of Bing Search. We have many exciting problems here to solve like leveraging LLM for relevance improvement and training data collection, building SOTA large scale NN models and feature processing framework, use reinforcement learning to drive user retention etc. This opportunity will allow you to work on the latest and innovative areas and help you develop skills in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data science and Large-Scale systems. ResponsibilitiesConduct applied science experiments, create and validate metrics, develop ML pipeline and modeling algorithm.Define metrics that measure the quality of user experience and satisfaction.Develop and apply cutting-edge machine learning models and ranking algorithms that match user intent and preferences.Design and maintain a robust and scalable ranking infrastructure that can serve the ranking models efficiently and safely.Embody our Culture and Values
