University Hospitals is offering a $500 sign on bonus, minus applicable taxes, for part time nutrition services assistants hired externally.

A Brief Overview

This position performs daily food service duties to meet customer and patient feeding deadlines, ensuring prompt, accurate, and polite service aligned with department and University Hospitals standards. Prioritizes the maintenance of a neat, clean, and sanitary work area, employing proper food safety procedures and efficiently using department equipment.

What You Will Do



  • Performs daily food service related duties necessary to meet customer/patient feeding deadlines.
  • Maintains a neat, clean and sanitary work area appropriate for food and service ware handling including mopping, sweeping and dishwashing.
  • Uses department equipment in a safe, efficient and confident manner.
  • Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures including proper food safety procedures.
  • Stays current with training requirements and safety in-services.
  • Serves internal and external customer needs promptly, accurately and politely utilizing department and University Hospitals service standards.
  • Ability to work in advanced skill areas such as diet office and/or cashier.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, cover multiple workstations and/or assignments.
  • Has ability to train other employees.

  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
