Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. Under specific direction from the Major Correctives Manager, provides day to day supervision of the Major Corrective teams working in the field. The scope includes, but not limited to, execution of all work activities, supervision of all employees at the site, reports, and other written and verbal communications between site and management teams, customers, vendors, etc.



Responsibilities

    Responsible for the daily oversight and primary point of contact for major correctives teams working in the field (internal team and subcontractors), including frequent travel to sites to perform TEV's, training, etc.
  • Support Zero Harm safety culture within internal team and subcontractors.
  • Investigate all Safety incidents and enact all Corrective Actions thereto.
  • Ensure all documentation is received prior to start of work (lift plan, etc.)
  • Support remote project kick-off calls as necessary.
  • Ensuring 100% training compliance of themselves as well as team members.
  • Perform daily/weekly review of work orders, timecards, service reports, and any other required paperwork or computer work for the specific project/assignment. Advise team of any errors and make adjustments/educate team as necessary to avoid the same in the future.
  • Responsible for all QC activity in the business and performing QC assessments of work by major correctives technicians up-tower.
  • Review major corrective work instructions periodically for accuracy as well as identifying opportunities for optimization and/or improvement.
  • Responsible for the development of the major correctives team through ongoing training and mentoring.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Others:

  • This position will have at times 12-20 technicians as direct reports.
  • This role may oversee and support subcontractors to support project needs.

Working Conditions:

65% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 35% of time is spent in the field supporting and visiting technicians, in addition to attending various meetings. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat and safety glasses always. Each job site may be different and must be accessed individually. Repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers. Able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, overtime and night shifts as required.



Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of wind industry best practices, general maintenance standards, and a common understanding of condition-based monitoring systems.
  • Advanced understanding of major corrective repair/replacement procedures including crane operations.
  • Rigging/signal person/QEW/GWO qualified within 6 months of hire.

Education/Experience -

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • 3-5 years' experience working with wind major corrective operations across multiple platforms.
  • A minimum of 3 years current or previous experience as a subject matter expert/supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledgeable in all MS applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Willing to travel on short notice, up to a week or two at a time.

  • Highly experienced in using and understanding testing and diagnostic equipment (multi-meter, borescope, etc.)
  • Knowledge in electrical safety and arc flash standards.

  • Able to work at heights, including climbing up and climbing down ladders.
  • Able to work in an electrical environment. This may have been achieved through formal training, previous work experience, or the ability to demonstrate electrical skills.
  • Able to operate company vehicles (field trucks), both onsite as well as on public roads and highways. Must have a current driver's license with a good DMV printout.
  • Demonstrate good work habits, including but not limited to attendance, and maintaining a neat and orderly work environment.

Salary range: the full salary range for this role is $91,000 to $152,000. The target range for this position is $91,000 to $130,000. We generally base salary decisions on factors such as candidate work and/or leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
