Job Summary

Plan, organize and oversee the information technology support function for a campus unit. Includes the acquisition, installation and maintenance of hardware and software systems required to meet unit's information technology needs. Responsible for setting employee, determining organizational structure to meet those goals, assessing performance, providing feedback and recommending pay actions. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit senior management and staff, unit IT users/customers, OIT management and staff, IT directors in other units. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit senior management and staff, unit IT users/customers, OIT management and staff, IT directors in other units. This position will supervise: unit IT support team.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Direct unit IT support staff personnel to include staffing, formulation and assignment of goals, performance assessment and employee development.

Job Duty 2 -
Formulate unit IT budget and manage related expenditures.

Job Duty 3 -
Oversee ongoing review of unit information needs and formulate and implement plans required to meet those needs.

Job Duty 4 -
Coordinate/communicate unit IT plans, programs and activities with OIT as appropriate.

Job Duty 5 -
May serve as unit representative on campus-wide information technology advisory groups.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science Computer Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of unit level information technology infrastructure including related software and hardware. Skills in strategic planning, budget formulation and management, management of technical professionals, oral and written communication, IT policy development and administration, project management, process engineering/reengineering, relational database administration and application of performance metrics is required.

Other Information

Manage information technology support for the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid which administers student financial assistance programs including scholarships, grants, loans and student work arrangements. Support services include new system testing, information processing operations and liaison with campus and external IT support organizations.

Lead and develop assigned staff.

Lead the efforts for automation with financial aid processing including but not limited to job scheduling, algorithmic packaging and budgeting.

Assess technologies and strategies for future projects.

Report writing and generation and validation of data.

Primary contact for the day-to-day problem resolution; responsible for awarding and delivery problems resolution, production quality control, and coordination of annual system maintenance.

This job requires working knowledge of information technology systems and service requirements associated with student financial aid management. Additionally, skills in supervision, project management, vendor relations, communications and customer service are required.

Salary Range or Pay Range: $120,000 - $130,000

Salary will be commensurate with experience and education
