Responsibilities:

* Respond to customer inquires and prioritize tasks according to established procedures and guidelines

*Interpret and communicate leave policies, federal and state leave laws and collective bargaining agreements to customers

*Provide instructions to employees, department managers and others on leave procedures

*Meet performance metrics and ensure accurate record-keeping

* Collaborate with Occupational Health and external stakeholders on the return from leave process

* Process leaves in a case management system

*Notify employees of leave status and implications on pay and benefits

* Maintain accurate leave records for employees

*Review medical certifications and contact medical providers for clarification

*Work with third-party vendors and external stakeholders to ensure accurate leave information

*Support leadership with special projects as needed

*Perform payroll activities to support leave timekeepers

*Investigate leave requests through telephone and written contact with relevant parties

* Document and communicate leave decisions

* Provide timely follow-up to customer questions and concerns

* Research and solve individual employee leave issues; recognize system problems and raise to the leadership team

* Interact with vendors to ensure accurate benefit payments

*Analyze and problem solve situations and propose solutions within acceptable timeframes, routing or escalating complex transactions to the Team Lead for resolution

*Stay updated on changing leave laws and company policies

* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and leave laws

*Continually adapt to changes in processes, technology and platforms

* Ensure delivery of business results by meeting or exceeding all service level agreements and delivering on high quality services that meet or exceed customer expectations Qualifications


Qualifications

* 1+ years of related leave administration, Human Resources, other benefit experience or 6+ months of leave assistant experience

* Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience preferred

* Experience in the healthcare industry and shared services/internal service delivery role preferred

*Proficiency with Office 365 and familiarity with ServiceNow for case/knowledge management

*A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements
