Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Location(s): Oakland, CA

(Hybrid; about 40% Remote)

Summary:



  • This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, Senior Project Manager position that requires mastery of the journey level Project Manager job duties.
  • Under general direction, exercises judgment and discretion and is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned Proof-of-concept (POC) project and provides a single point of contact through the completion of POC by May, 2025.
  • The project scope involves coordination with extensive list of functional area teams and various contractors.
  • The project requires discipline and organization to manage time-sensitive milestones to not cause undue delays.


Job Duties:


  • Determines that RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology application to capital inventory at San Jose Cinnabar and Edenvale are achievable.
  • Provides guidance to engineering on producing complex risk and alternative analyses, studies, and conceptual designs for presentation to project sponsor.
  • Schedule and execute various milestones working with the other stakeholders.
  • Conduct various test cases for inventory tracking and tracing and document performance measures.
  • Coordinate with contractors to tag existing capital inventory with RFID labels.
  • Set up process to prevent untagged inventory from getting delivered to the yards in scope.
  • Coordinate with IT telecom and functional areas such as Fremont Distribution Center and Material Field Services in San Jose Cinnabar and Edenvale with RFID equipment such as RFID printer, handheld reader, RFID labels and computing devices.
  • Coordinate with the project engineer to document tagging instructions on existing inventory.
  • Ensure timely communication with the stakeholders, including meeting minutes after cross-functional meetings.
  • Track hard and soft benefits to report out and address process gaps.
  • Partner with product vendors to incorporate RFID labels to their production process, including all the necessary electronic and paper documentation.
  • Document deployment and communication plans in partnership with Sourcing/Materials
  • Document decisions, new opportunities, and follow-up items from various meetings.
  • Negotiates third party contracts, in support of other departments when appropriate.
  • Develops and champions company-wide best practices.
  • Makes presentations to organization's leaders as appropriate.
  • Arbitrates and resolves conflicts within the project.


Knowledge / Abilities:


  • Knowledge of Lean concepts and applications
  • Superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations.


Qualifications:


  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or its equivalent in education and experience.
  • Plus 8 or 9 years' experience in project management, project controls, engineering and/or construction.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and maintenance required for new entrants.
