Faculty.Professor.Teaching Assistant - Full-Time

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for two to three positions as Teaching Assistant Professors beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year (pending budgetary approval). Teaching Assistant Professors are eligible for renewal and promotion (for more information, please see https://www.as.pitt.edu/faculty/governance/criteria-promotion-appointment-evaluation-and-reappointment-appointment-stream). We especially welcome applications from individuals with the ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses.

Required Qualifications: (1) A PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date, (2) evidence of exemplary teaching.

Responsibilities: Undergraduate teaching (3 courses per semester) and regular departmental duties.

Applicants should submit a CV, three letters of recommendation, evidence of teaching excellence, and sample syllabi. Letters of recommendation should not be uploaded in Talent Center but sent to Matt Ceraso at mrc118@pitt.edu.

In addition, applicants should provide a brief personal statement that addresses their contributions to diversity through research, teaching, service and/or community engagement. Please mention any past contributions as well as any planned or potential contributions.
