Overview

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing and Implementing Company EHS programs and facility-specific procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and Company requirements. They are also responsible for developing and conducting EHS-related training utilizing Shurtape's Learning Management System and maintaining the department's data management systems and Intranet information site.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Serves as Learning Management System (LMS) Manager for creation of EHS training content.
  • Serves as Health & Safety subject matter expert supporting facilities as required.
  • Creates and manages EHS SharePoint site including development of web pages, development of data capture pages and filing methodology.
  • Assists with development of plant projects.
  • Interfaces with other departments to facilitate communication on projects, process refinements, safety and environmental concerns.
  • Prepares, reviews, and submits EHS reports and correspondence with various vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Revises and updates EHS policies as assigned.
  • Manages Policy review cycle for EHS Policies and ensures EHS policy manuals are up to date in all formats.
  • Develops and reviews equipment-specific work instructions for use in JSA's, ECP's (lock out tag out) and confined spaces.
  • Develops, implements, and updates environmental, health and safety compliance programs.
  • Keeps incident reporting records and documentation of EHS training.
    • Provides technical guidance and support coordination regarding various environmental and safety issues.
  • Reconciles invoices.
  • Assists with planning and coordination of Annual Emergency Response Team (ERT) Skills Evaluation day
  • Assists with EHS Material Approvals and Spec Approvals as requested
  • Participates in internal ISO audits
  • Performs other duties as assigned



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with a high level of attention to detail. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Natural or Physical Science or a curriculum relevant to EHS fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer 3 years of progressive EHS program management or program coordination experience in an engineering or manufacturing office
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Project, Articulate, SAP, SharePoint, Visio, and LMS
  • Valid NC Driver's License
