Overview

Reporting to O&R's President and Chief Executive Officer, the Director-O&R (Ethics and Business Standards) is responsible for developing, monitoring, and enforcing the company's Ethics Program; periodically reporting to CECONY's Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer / Vice President of Business Ethics & Compliance regarding the Ethics Program; and participating as a contributing member to the Corporate Policy Committee.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Periodically presents updates to O&Rs Board of Directors on the Ethics Office program
  • Is dedicated to enhancing the Customer Experience, both within the Company and externally and demonstrates a commitment to the ideal of developing a proactive, customer-centric culture to foster trust and confidence among customers and improve value for all our stakeholders.
  • Oversight of Ethics Council program and participates with CECONY VIA Advisor program
  • Coordinates company compliance and ethics training programs including, Standards of Business Conduct, FERC Standards of Conduct, and Standards of Competitive Conduct.
  • Functions as an ethics counselor and responds to requests for advisory opinions and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains and administers the Ethics Help Line and related procedures to provide employees with a confidential means to express ethics-related concerns, make inquiries, and report misconduct without fear of retaliation or reprisal.
  • Initiates, conducts, and leads investigations concerning allegations of misconduct, coordinates with other departments (e.g., Law, EEO, Security, Internal Auditing, Human Resources) participating in such investigations, and communicates findings to the appropriate level of management.
  • Conducts assessments of specific areas of the company, as appropriate.
  • Facilitates the issuance, modification and publication of the O&R policies in the Policy Guide and departmental procedures that apply to company employees.
  • Ensures O&R policies, procedures and processes are properly represented and aligned with CEI and shared service Corporate Policy Statements and Corporate Instructions.
  • Guides, directs, and monitors the development and consistent enforcement of all components of the Ethics Program, including development of policies and procedures
  • Administers the companys Ethics Program to comply in all respects with the requirements of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines and other applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.
  • Guides and assists directors, managers, and supervisors in all aspects of the Ethics Program.
  • Conducts Ethics training sessions and communicates on a regular basis with employees regarding Ethics issues and concerns.
  • Assists in performing Ethics-related liaison activities with non-employees, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and customers.
  • Serves as Department Risk Liaison and works closely with Enterprise Risk Management.
  • Maintains professional competence through participation in regional and national ethics associations in order to ensure that the companys Ethics Program is consistent with best corporate practices and continues to meet all applicable standards.
  • Maintains an electronic database of all investigations and inquiries. Evaluates information and communicates results and trends to employees and management. Develops action plans to address areas of concern as required.
  • Participates in the Companys emergency management processes and storm plans as required.
  • The successful candidate will be asked to assist in creating written content for an extensive range of internal and external projects and topics such as safety, clean energy, sustainability, employee issues, customer issues, and executive speeches.
  • Oversight of Multi-Cultural Advisory Council (MAC)- O&Rs Local Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.
  • Will be expected to sponsor, chair, or be a member of one or more corporate committee's.
  • Performs other related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years relevant business experience, managing employees and programs.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills. Required and
  • Experience developing, implementing, and administering new programs. Required and
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills. Required and
  • Demonstrated experience conducting fact-finding investigations. Required and
  • Report writing and editing experience required. Required and

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with sensitive and confidential information, including employee concerns. Required and
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications. Required and
  • Training, presentation, and facilitation experience required. Required
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
