The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is excited to announce the creation of an inaugural Chair position within the Department of Urology, which officially became the college's 24th academic department on July 1, 2024. This transition marks a significant milestone, as the Department evolves from its previous status as a division of the Department of Surgery, a change that aligns with a national trend of elevating urology divisions to departmental status. The new Chair will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Department of Urology, which currently consists of 6 full-time faculty members, 10 residents, and 7 advanced providers. There is close coordination between the Departments of Urology at the Veterans Administration Hospital (4 full time faculty) and Cincinnati Children's Hospital (6 full time faculty). With a vision for rapid growth and expansion, the Department is poised to gain national recognition and attract top talent in the field. The Chair will have the opportunity to foster an environment of financial and operational autonomy, promoting innovative research, high-quality patient care, and educational excellence.
