Overview Our Facilities Operation and Maintenance department is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mechanic B L1-2. This position requires a unique blend of skills and experience in various fields including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, and painting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to qualify and advance through career path training to a Mechanic A position. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems. Apply knowledge of electrical plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, Masonry, and painting to solve problems and complete tasks. Work closely with the team to ensure the smooth operation of facilities. Complete asbestos courses as part of ongoing professional development. Work at high elevations and in outdoor weather conditions, demonstrating flexibility and resilience. Quickly troubleshoots and resolves problems. Ability to interpret basic information on drawings. Selected candidates will be assigned a work location based on business needs. Selected candidate may be required to undergo a background check in accordance with North American Energy Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, depending on their assigned location. Qualifications Required Education/Experience High School Diploma/GED Relevant Work Experience 3-5 years Experience in building trades and ability to read schematics and engineering prints Required Ability to use work management system Maximo for time entry and updates to work orders. Preferred Experience in rotating equipment and mechanical repair Preferred EPA universal certification, R410A Technician certification Preferred Licenses And Certfications Driver's License Required Additional Physical Demands Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers. Must respond to system emergencies Must work at field locations in all weather conditions Must perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions Must perform heavy manual labor; i.e. pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds Must carry tools and materials, climb ladders and scaffolds, and enter confined spaces Must work in an environment that includes heat, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations Must climb ladders and stairs Must work on elevated platforms, scaffolds, catwalks, roofs, or equipment Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces) Must work with and in the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems Must be clean shaven and approved to wear a 1/2 face or full face respirator
