Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is looking for a PACCAR MX Engine Dealer Technical Service Trainer to instruct and support our network of over 350dealership locations throughout North America. The instructor will educate dealership technicians, fleet customer technicians and internal Peterbilt personnel on PACCAR MX Engine service, diagnostics and repair as well as on Peterbilt products and resources. Training is conducted at the Denton Training Center, various regionally based training centers and dealership locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Candidates: The start date for this position will be no sooner than January 2, 2025.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Instruct Peterbilt dealership and fleet customer technicians regarding Peterbilt resources, PACCAR products and PACCAR MX Engine benefits, service, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Identify areas of training that need improvement or updates based on feedback from dealerships, Peterbilt field service personnel and Peterbilt warranty.
  • Attain continuous technical knowledge from various Peterbilt subject matter experts which will be pivotal to being a competent instructor and mentor to technicians.
  • Gather issues that need to be addressed from the field and provide feedback to appropriate Peterbilt departments regarding product, maintenance, and service issues.
  • Work as part of a team to continuously update information to improve training based on recognized issues retrieved from the field and contribute to provide the best-in-class training within our industry.
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of classroom and virtual training including venue selection, catering, classroom materials, training aids and scheduling.
  • Work as part of a team to continuously provide input and review of online training modules, workbooks and manuals related to servicing the PACCAR MX Engine family.
  • Communicate with the PACCAR MX Engine team and other sectors of Dealer Training to ensure consistent delivery of training content.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time is to be expected.
Skills

Diesel engine electronic engine management controls.

Diesel engine aftertreatment systems.

Strong organization, planning and time management skills along with a teamwork mentality.

Ability to communicate in both writing and verbally. Comfortable presenting training to all levels of Peterbilt personnel.

Ability to assist with developing classroom, online and video training.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates/Technical degree with a combination of extensive applicable work experience in lieu of a Bachelors
  • Experience in: Diesel engine service, diagnostics, and repair.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business or Engineering is preferred.
  • Peterbilt truck and PACCAR MX Engine experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft products like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, etc. is preferred.
  • Background in technical training or instruction along with curriculum development is preferred.
