Overview

The Data Science Analyst-Intermediate will be responsible for analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, performing outcomes analysis, and helping drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

The analyst will possess a strong foundation in data analysis, a keen interest in healthcare, and a desire to explore the potential of emerging technologies like AI and machine learning. In addition, they will be expected to stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in data science and machine learning and apply new techniques as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/research discipline such as epidemiology, statistics, econometrics, behavior economics, data sciences, or other related discipline required. An additional four (4) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Three (3) years of analytics experience required or Master's degree plus one year of experience. Experience in a managed health care environment preferred.
  • Experience in the application of modern statistical design and research techniques to health-related data.
  • Experience working with data warehouses to extract, clean and transform data.
  • Knowledge of healthcare concepts and healthcare data, for example CPT, HCPCS, DRG, ICD-10/ICD-9 Code, etc.
  • Knowledge of data mining concepts.
  • Experience in developing, training, tuning, and evaluating machine learning models.
  • Knowledge of software for statistical analysis and data mining: SQL, SAS, R, Python, etc.
  • Understand value of integrating multiple data sources: understand different types of data, such as clinical, administrative and personalization, and can draw associations with this data.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on major projects.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into reports/analyses and frame questions thatcreate value for the business partners.
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions.
  • Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable.
Essential Accountabilities
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess data from multiple sources.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Independently build and deploy machine learning models, including classification and regression models. Assist with building and deploying complex machine learning models.
  • Design and implement data visualizations to communicate complex findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Performing outcome evaluation of business initiatives around but not limited to cost and utilization, population assessments, care management programs such as Disease Management, Case Management, Utilization Management, etc., member-centric engagement analytics, econometrics studies.
  • Present methodology for assigned projects at methods review meetings.
  • QA own work and work of others when assigned.
  • Collaborate with team members on various data-driven projects.

Hiring Compensation Range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
