Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Apply principles of mechanical engineering to develop products to support advanced efficiency vehicles.
  • Translate vehicle performance goals into concepts and develop designs through to production implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to analyze and validate designs with FEA and durability testing.
  • Create rapid prototypes to quickly evaluate and/or validate design concepts.
  • Employ Design for Six Sigma and engineering tools to develop and validate designs.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of engineering experience, including at least 1 year of experience in each of the following:
  • Organizational product lifecycle management,including managingin-house product changes from concept to launch, implementing PPAP and APQP systems and documents, and tracking functional requirements and project schedules
  • Utilizing CAD software (including Creo Parametric) for creating drawings for releasing, analyzing and validating
  • Conducting Root Cause Analysis on product deviations and failures to develop and implement long-term solutions to improve product quality
  • Prototype modeling using SolidWorks and analyzing using Novacast, to optimize product designs and improve efficiency
  • Utilizing DFSS methodologies to optimize product design for manufacturability, reliability and cost-effectiveness
  • Documenting project progress, status updates, and technical specifications using project management tools, providing regular status updates on supplier-related activities
  • Working with cross-functional teams to analyze and validate product testing and achieve Hardware and Software deliverables
  • Experience may be gained concurrently. Position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field or the foreign degree equivalent
