Description

The Department of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College invites applications for the Joseph P. Obering Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship supports a scholar who provides synergy with existing research activities within the Department of Earth Sciences, including the core research areas of Earth Surface and Environmental Processes, Climate and Cryospheric Sciences, and Earth and Planetary History. The fellow will have the opportunity to pursue independent research, collaborate with existing research groups, and develop a teaching portfolio.

The Fellowship provides two years of full-time salary and a research allowance, with renewal for a third year of salary and research support contingent upon performance. Consistent with Dartmouth's philosophy that scholarship and teaching are mutually enriching aspects of academic life, Obering Fellows teach one course per academic year. To facilitate professional development, candidates should identify one or more mentors from the Earth Sciences faculty in the application and are welcome to contact faculty in advance of the application deadline. Fellows are also supported by the Guarini School for Graduate and Advanced Studies, including their diversity and inclusion initiatives.
