Clinical Research Coordinator

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to assist the physician investigators of Illinois CancerCare in all aspects of clinical trials, from screening and enrollment of participants, to treatment and follow up of research patients. To assemble, record and monitor the research data for patients assigned to cancer and other diseaserelated research protocols in order to assure quality control and compliance with protocol specifications.

1. Work collaboratively as a part of a designated disease site team as a specialist in those protocols.
2. Work with physicians and patients to screen and enroll eligible patients on clinical trials, following all protocol instructions without error throughout the patient's course of participation.
3. To submit data in a timely manner with as few errors as possible.
4. To keep all protocol binders current and file materials in a timely manner.
5. To create all necessary source documents required for each protocol accurately, and prior to enrolling any patients.
6. Perform all other duties as requested or required

SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires full range of body motion including bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires the ability to distinguish and transcribe letters and numbers without transposition. Requires the use of office equipment such as telephone, copier, fax machine, scanner, and computer. May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a medical office/clinic in both an office environment and a clinic environment.
Work is sometimes performed at the local hospitals. There is considerable contact with physicians, staff, and patients.

Bachelor's degree in a science or health care field is required.

Three years exposure in a medical setting is preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail.

SoCRA or ACRP certification preferred.
