Technical Writer and Editor

Key Role:

Provide technical writing or editing support, including prepare and format programmatic and engineering documentation for the client from initial draft through finalization for delivery. Review technical manuals, test procedures, plans, and user instructions or guides with focus on updating technical documentation. Interview and collaborate with subject matter experts, conduct research, and analyze technical information to distill into clear and concise language. Grow knowledge of technical writing best practices and understand DoD guidance to produce comprehensive and accurate documentation. Identify solutions to challenges of junior-level scope and complexity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in technical writing and producing technical documentation

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to create and update document templates

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with military standards and specifications governing the preparation of technical documentation

  • Experience with using AI technology and tools to create written content

  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $42,700.00 to $87,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
