Student Managers are undergraduate and graduate students that support the programming and tutoring services offered to UNM students. Through this leadership position, Student Managers provide mentorship and guidance to CTL student employees within the context of a specific academic support program. Student Managers undergo extensive training in preparation to perform the following responsibilities: Provides coordination and expertise for a CTL program and service as they pertain to a particular content area Provides mentorship for CTL student employees and models professional expectations at their location Models best practices in peer tutoring as a tutor in an academic content or student support area Makes informed decisions and takes appropriate actions to maintain the integrity of CAPS programs Supports program needs and day-to-day operations Plans and co-facilitates weekly trainings for CTL student employees Works with full-time staff members on assignments and projects as needed Represents CTL internally and externally through presentations to student groups, organizations, and classes on CTL-related services Provides outreach to student populations within the UNM community Participates in Student Manager meetings and Friday trainings throughout the academic semester Upholds and models CTL policies Other duties as assigned related to your program/team Requirements For Consideration 15-25 hour work week availability Attendance at Friday trainings (3pm-5pm) Flexible work schedule for occasional nights and weekends if needed Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at the University of New Mexico in a degree seeking program Experience working at a STEM learning center. Experience with Chemistry at The University of New Mexico: Potential Applicants should have completed at least Organic Chemistry 2 (Chemistry 302). Experience with Biology or Biochemistry as well is preferred, but is not a requirement.
