Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The Business Services Coordinator for Global Partnerships and International Education (
GPIE) supports the offices of Education Abroad, International Students and Scholars, and the English Language Center. This role works closely with faculty and staff, as well as functional groups in Business Affairs. Position responsibilities include:
- Coordinate travel for education abroad programs.
- Coordinate and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Reconcile funds and maintain profit-and-loss statements.
- Prepare daily deposit transmittals and coordinate TouchNet functions.
- Process billing feeds for student account charges and credits.
- Manage process timelines, communicating deadlines and requirements.
- Departmental Leavekeeper: manage leave reports and timesheets, train new employees and supervisors, and regularly communicate updates and reminders.
- Assistant Coordinator for searches and new hire onboarding.
- Process payroll assignments and coordinate hiring processes.
- Coordinate staff and student access for building, keys, and copier.
- Coordinate purchasing, receiving, and reconciliation, including reconciliation of Purchasing Card transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, interdepartmental invoices, budget revisions, and SRCI flexes.
- Coordinate scholarship awards for students in NextGen.
- Screen and route telephone calls and walk-in visitors.
- Support a wide range of requests from diverse populations both on and off campus, prioritize requests by importance and urgency, and provide guidance on matters with an established precedence.
This position reports to the
GPIE Business Officer and serves as the backup to both the Business Officer and Administrative Associate for cross-trained roles. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Preferred education, professional skills and experience |
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and PivotCharts.
- Experience with SharePoint and Teams.
- Experience with UNCW applications such as Banner, ChromeRiver, uShop, FLAC/EPAF, and NextGen.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to provide customer service to faculty, staff, students and visitors.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and provide guidance on business practices with an established precedence.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, recommend, write and implement policy and procedural guidelines.
- Ability to interpret federal, state, UNC system, university, and departmental policies.
- Ability to identify, analyze and evaluate situations or problems and implement solutions.
