Under limited supervision of the IT Application Manager, the Application Coordinator/Analyst II is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of software and serving as a bridge between the end user operations and the Epic team. Reporting to a GBMC Application Manager for Epic applications, the Application Coordinator/Analyst II will be responsible for reviewing Epic software, analyzing business operations and workflows, building the system in a manner that is efficient and meets the end users' needs, testing to ensure that it meets desired requirements, adhering to change control procedures and designing, develop and coordinate the materials and training environments for the delivery of education to users of the Epic system.

In addition, the Application Coordinator/Analyst II will be responsible for developing and implementing the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with vendor 3rd party applications; working as an application and project lead during all phases of system implementations; troubleshooting problems or questions from users and resolving assigned helpdesk tickets. Participation in on-call rotation is required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional key responsibilities will be to demonstrate ability to devise moderately complex benchmarking metrics to assess system performance. Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of the clinical or business operations functions. Demonstrate attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development, and documentation and record keeping. Demonstrates intermediate degree of analytical skill and work under limited supervision in support of team initiatives.

Education

Baccalaureate degree or health related field with educational courses preferred. Professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement on a two years-experience-for-one year education basis. Registered Nurse or Pharmacist license preferred for clinical analyst applications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • One-year operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or one year experience in Information Technology.
  • One-year Epic analyst experience.
  • Moderate understanding of the workflows in clinical or healthcare business operations.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple priorities.
  • Displays strong organizational skills by leading effective meetings and through decision/project tracking
  • Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of computer systems, applications, and interfaces.
  • Demonstrates ability to gather the appropriate data, devise, and design system to meet complex solutions to user needs with limited TS support.
  • Demonstrates ability to devise moderately complex benchmarking metrics to assess system performance.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the clinical and business operations functions.
  • Provide application expertise to facilitate discussions and decisions.
  • Demonstrates moderate degree of analytical skill.
  • Provide Tier 1 - 3 support to end users.
  • Escalate issues and risks to project leadership, along with the ability to identify research, steps taken before asking for guidance.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience with implementing clinical and/or healthcare business information systems in a large-scale and complex healthcare organization.
  • Epic certification in the module(s) being represented.
  • Knowledge of the current healthcare environment required.
  • Experience in developing business and/or clinical workflows related to the assigned application module.

Licensures, Certifications

Required to complete and pass certification in assigned Epic application module(s) within 120 days of employment in this role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead meetings, prioritizes tasks, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and manage a project plan.
  • Probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, which directly influences how the system will be built.
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives; initiates Sherlocks when needed; documents appropriately in Nova Notes.
  • Work with Epic representative(s) and the organization's business community and end-users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with Epic software.
  • Recommends efficiencies and/or functional improvements available to support the patient care and operational needs.
  • Analyze business operations as they relate to build decisions.
  • Prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
  • Analyze new functionality for impact and escalates potential negative impacts appropriately.
  • Review and test software and coordinate updates with each new release.
  • Identifies opportunities for potential system enhancements and presents to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that data coming across an interface into an Epic application meets the business need.
  • Develop and document project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks. May act as a migration or testing lead.
  • Implement changes by adhering to the change management polies and procedures for any given project to communicate to all parties the nature, significance, and risk factors of the solutions.
  • Works in direct support of team initiatives.
  • Works with report writers to develop and monitor organizational data needs.
  • Takes on on-call support as application support as assigned per IT on-call support schedule.

Pay Range

$71,006.92 - $120,711.77

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
