Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for an Manager of Rehabilitation Services. We are looking for Manager to provide administrative and clinical supervision of the rehabilitation services provided to inpatients in an efficient and professional manner. To participate with the Rehab Services Team and the facility's Operations Team in planning the facility's response to changes in the healthcare market.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Manager of Rehabilitation Services position:

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Requires a thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, and the effect of treatment procedures on body functions and structure. Knowledge and understanding of musculoskeletal dysfunction and neurological dysfunction and the effect a rehabilitation program has on mobility, self-care, cognition-communication, and overall functional living skills. Ability to evaluate the performance of other staff members using criteria stated in their job descriptions.

EDUCATION: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology. Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current license as a PTA, PT, OT, COTA, or SLP in the State of Texas. Certification in CPR.

EXPERIENCE: At least three years of experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting with supervisory experience. At least one year of experience in a lead, manager, or director role preferred. PPS coordinator or rehab team scheduling experience will be considered. Experience in evaluating the performance of other staff members using criteria stated in their job descriptions preferred.

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sustain physical activity eight hours a day. Able to remain on feet eight hours per day. Able to frequently lift, carry, and lower 50 pounds without assistance. Able to push patients in wheelchairs up and down hills. Able to use hands repetitively. Able to transfer patients to and from wheelchairs. Able to physically restrain patients by individual or team restraint per policy. Able to confront a dangerous and aggressive patient. Able to verbally communicate to de-escalate a crisis situation, explain treatment to the patient to allow patient to be an active participant, and to protect self and others from aggressive patients or other incidents. Able to pursue running patients. Able to visually observe to describe patient behavior verbally. Able to write legibly and grammatically to report patient behavior and information in the patient chart. Regular and expected attendance. Hearing and vision sufficient to perform essential job functions. Physically, mentally, emotionally, and legally capable of fulfilling all job components. Able to complete training program.
