The Predictive Planning & Insights Analyst contributes insightful reporting and analysis within the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function of Sherwin Williams. As part of the Planning & Reporting CoE team, the individual leverages advanced financial analytics to drive accurate forecasts and provide business insights to varying levels of leadership. They will demonstrate scenario planning, modeling, and reporting skills to provide actionable insights that guide the company's financial strategy. This role plays a significant part in CoE planning activities and contributes towards shaping the vision for the Center of Excellence (CoE) team. Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Support and Development of Predictive Sales Forecast Modeling
- Collaborate with Enterprise Finance and Business Unit Finance to develop forecasts tied to external market impacts.
- Help with the support and development of predictive models utilizing advanced analytics through programs like R, Python, Dataiku or other solutions.
- Help drive model transparency, efficiency, and model accuracy.
- Analyze market data and communicate key business insights.
Support and Development of S&P Global External Signals
- Help with tailoring external signals (housing, construction, etc.) within S&P Global to fit Sherwin-Williams' divisional landscapes.
- Leverage storytelling and visualizations to create presentations to facilitate a deep understanding of financial data behavior and the macroeconomic environment.
- Identify opportunities to develop Sherwin specific indexes to better drive accuracy and business insights.
Support and Development of Scenario Planning
- Help with the support and development of scenario planning modules through R, Python, Dataiku and/or other UI solutions.
- Help provide best case/worst case scenarios (fed rate cuts, crude oil prices rise, etc) to business leaders to help prepare for possible macroeconomic alternatives.
Assist in the Completion of Special Projects
- Help in the assistance with other projects such as SG&A, Cash, etc.
- Integrate exploratory data analysis.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, MS/PhD in technology, mathematics, or economics)
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a technical or business role, focusing on process improvement, data management, and analytics
- Proven Experience with:
- Business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView)
- Statistical modeling tools (e.g. Dataiku, Excel-based modeling, regression, machine learning)
- Data management and governance
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Data storytelling and visualization
- Predictive modeling and forecasting

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with analyzing large amounts of financial and operational data to derive meaningful trends, map connections, and identify drivers of key P&L line items like revenue and cost.
Preferred:
- Experience working with time series data is preferred. Prior experience with Python-based libraries for time series, will be a plus!
- Experience in full stack data science, including developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
