Radiation Therapist

Job Description:

Radiation Therapist / Full Time/ 40 hours weekly

Hours 8a-4:30p Monday-Friday

Essential Job Duties:

• Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the radiation therapy technologist treats patients with ionizing radiation accurately and efficiently per physician's prescription.
• Maintains the ability to instruct/demonstrate to radiation therapy students' proper techniques for treatment of cancer patients.
• May assist with training of students and communication regarding students among all areas within cancer care services.
• May perform other duties relating to instructing and monitoring radiation therapy students.

Requirements:

• Assoicates Degree from an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes, or military training graduate of JRCERT-accredited program required
• Active licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration required. BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• Experience using Aria and Varian linear accelerators preferred
