Job Overview:

Looking for a Virtual Emergency Room? Top skills: Triage, Critical Thinking, Multitasking and Leadership? Then the PTC RN Supervisor Role is for you! This position provides comprehensive care coordination for patients as assigned, including initiation and coordination of incoming and outgoing transfers for higher level of care. This position requires securing physician acceptance, clinical assessment, triage for appropriate level of care and arrangement of appropriate transport resource. This position serves as a resource to other staff members and promotes a collegiality between staff physicians and leaders.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing
  • New Jersey Professional Registered Nurse License
  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. Licenses and Certifications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of experience in Health Care Nursing Management, ED or ICU patient care setting
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 wpm

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Requires a New Jersey Professional Registered Nurse License
  • Valid Driver's License from a USA state
  • Requires AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification. Licenses and Certifications

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Part-Time, Nights
  • 36 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently demonstrates and supports the Patient Transfer Center mission, vision, core values and department customer service standards
  • Supports and evaluates staff performance of the Patient Transfer Center
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary
  • Oversees planning, implementation, and development of program/initiatives for the Patient Transfer Center to promote exceptional customer service
  • Assist with scheduling of staff and develops team to ensure continual even functioning of departments during absences
  • Consults and advises management on departmental problems affecting overall operations and appropriate corrective actions
  • Participate in employee engagement initiatives, including compiling data and discussing trends and concerns with management
  • Evaluates employee performance and reinforces Standard evaluation guide and Daily Observation Report Adherence
  • Assists and conducts potential employee interviews and recommends candidates for open positions to maintain optimum staffing levels and operational needs. Creates and monitors education and orientation of new team members.
  • Performs clinical coordinator responsibilities during emergent staffing needs.
  • Monitors and assesses the use of hospital services by administering utilization review procedures under Federal, State and hospital guidelines.
  • Participates in facilitating new hire orientation
  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Holiday and weekend requirement
