EPI Power is seeking an Electrical VDC Manager to be located first on a data center project in Boydton, VA. The Electrical VDC Manager will work on a variety of projects and provide a very high level of technical leadership. They will represent the firm in all interactions with clients, employees, contractors, architects, and other project team members. What You'll Do Every Day:
- Prepare, submit, review and follow up on the electrical shop drawing and as-built drawings to determine conformance with contract documents.
- Preparing the shop drawings for the non-modeled details.
- Study and prepare requests for information, follow up on the subcontractor's progress.
- Knowledge of the NEC code.
- Research and analyze customer design proposal specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Study and verify engineering site instructions through the BIM models.
- Managing multiple projects at the same time.
- Coordination with all trades and issue coordination/composite drawings from BIM Model.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Attend meetings with owners, clients, or architects as needed.
- Identify and resolve issues/conflicts as they arise.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors and co-workers; initiate third-party relationships when opportunities arise
- Follow up on the project milestones achievement according to the time schedule set.
- Participate in resolving any technical issues that may arise.
- Analyses RFPs/RFIs.
- Review technical specifications for the purchase department and construction team.
- Perform other duties as dictated by the needs of the project
- Business travel will be required
- Collaborate with project teams to execute project goals
- Partner with marketing and business development on initiatives; promote VDC capabilities
- Creating virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, scheduling, and VR experiences.
- Keep abreast of the latest software and technology
- Review Project Data (Specifications, BOQ, Q&A, & Drawings) and issue the relevant RFI's in case of contradiction / missing data using BIM model if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- Education: An industry-related bachelor's degree is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of design and construction experience is required, including VDC/BIM management experience. Data center experience is preferred.
- Technology: Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Employee should be proficient in Autodesk software programs (Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks) and have a general understanding of VDC software (Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe Suite), systems and hardware, and the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software, etc.).
- Skills: A qualified candidate will demonstrate initiative, independent judgment, project management and analytical skills. They should also show leadership, attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication, time management, business acumen, client relation and decision making abilities.
