Dr. Roman Ganta's lab is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated candidate who has prior research experience in studying tick-borne rickettsial pathogen molecular biology and having broader understanding the molecular mechanisms of tick-borne pathogens that impact human and animal health. The research involves molecular biological cell-culture approaches in defining critical bacterial genes of rickettsial pathogens to facilitate research in uncovering critical proteins required for the pathogen-host interactions. Alongside the University of Missouri's excellent research infrastructure to support these lines of investigation, our research endeavors primarily focus on defining pathogenesis of several tick-borne rickettsial bacteria, in vitro and in vivo studies aiming to develop vaccines to control tick-borne infections. This position will play an important part in the successfulness of our current actively pursued projects. Responsibilities including but not limited to:

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Anticipated Hiring Range
