Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): Day

Duration: 6+ months


Required: Active Interim Security Clearance or higher is required.

Job Description:

  • Micro-soldering under a microscope for an extensive period.
  • Build cables and harnesses from schematics.
  • Quality verification and inspection under a microscope
  • Identify, repair, and replace wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Recognize failures, isolate problems, and suggest appropriate corrective action


Required Skill Sets:

  • Ability to solder electronic components including surface mount, ball grid arrays, quad flat packs, and through hole parts.
  • Operate multi-meters to conduct point-to-point current connection.
  • Ability to use microscopes to inspect micro-components for installation verification and failure identification.
  • Hot air rework and circuit card baking operations.
  • Preparation, application, and curing of materials such as Humiseal, Parylene, and other conformal coatings.
  • Ability to communicate in a team-based environment involving engineers and functional leadership.


Desired Skill Sets:

  • IPC J-Standard Solder Certification
  • Class 3 Solder Certification
  • Understanding of basic electronics and unpowered troubleshooting techniques.
  • Understanding of component installation to include Tombstoning, Dead-Bug, and other general post manufacturer techniques.
  • Ability to work with microscopic or fragile components such as 0201 resistors or 32AWG transformer wire.

Education Level Required:

  • Associates Degree


How will the contractor's success be measured? (Quantifiable measurements) :

  • Optimal yield of circuit card rework, First-Time-Yield > 0.95
  • Harness construction verification, First-Time-Yield > 0.99
  • Minimized damage during rework cycles, <1% errors



Culture:

  • Contractor will be working in a collaborative team environment, often communicating daily with engineers to obtain work instructions for circuit cards.
