David Evans and Associate Inc (DEA's) Inland Northwest Smart Mobility team is seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer. Working on a variety of traffic engineering design and planning projects. As a mid-level civil engineer, the responsibilities will be diverse and will include, but not be limited to, the following:



  • Working with diverse project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, data collection, data analysis, documentation, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
  • Signing Design
  • Striping Design
  • Signal Design
  • Temporary Traffic Control
  • Traffic Analysis
  • Traffic Impact Study preparation
  • Transportation Planning
  • Illumination Design
  • ITS Design
  • Leading tasks for traffic design projects
  • Supporting project managers and task leads on multi-discipline projects.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Washington or Idaho (or the ability to obtain it within 1 year and has EIT certification)
  • 3 plus years of professional engineering experience
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Desire to work in the Traffic Engineering field
  • Ability to work both in teams and independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Desired Qualifications:



  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with course work in traffic engineering
  • Experience leading project tasks or small teams
  • Experience with business development
  • Experience training others in fundamentals of traffic design tasks
  • Experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guide Sign, Sign CAD, AGi32, etc.
  • Experience with analysis software such as Synchro, aaSidra, RODEL, VISSIM, HCS, etc.
