Responsibilities

The SCTU Registered Nurse renders specialty nursing care to patient being transported from one facility to another. They are responsible to act under physician orders and is a patient advocate. They are to adhere to all laws set forth at NJAC 8:41-10.3 which regulates specialty ambulance transportation by the New Jersey Department of Health. They provide care to patient ranging from neonatal through geriatric.



Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

    NJ Registered Nurse License.
  1. Current and valid Healthcare Provider ? BLS CPR card.
  2. Current and valid AHA ACLS card.
  3. Current and valid AHA PALS card or ENPC.
  4. Valid Driver's License.
  5. CEVO certification ? must obtain within 3 months of hire and renew in 3 year period.
  6. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within three months of hire / transfer.
  7. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICN) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP).
  8. Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) must be obtained for NJ Registered Nurses that have not yet obtained MICN or MICP certification.
  9. Mobile Intensive Care Nurse training as per NJ 8:41-4:11, with an additional 100 hours of ALS truck orientation time (total 200 hours)
  10. Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) within the first year of hire / transfer
  11. Undergraduate/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
