We are looking for a Tooling Designer to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

First Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Capable of lifting 40 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Working Hours- Fulltime Employment (40+ Hours/Week)
  • Personal Traits- Good communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for accurately designing and constructing jigs, patterns and light manufacturing machinery to meet project goals specified by production management. Authority to requisition supplies and parts required to manufacture said fixtures and machines. Responsible for producing quality workmanship, which meets or exceeds requirements.


  • Design and build jigs and fixtures as requested by Vice President of Business Development & Engineering.
  • Using available machinery, tailor and construct specific use equipment to meet a manufacturing need.
  • Program the robotic welding machines and other automated machinery as required.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done.
  • Ensure ISO quality system and safety procedures are followed. Understand Quality Policy and Objectives.
  • Work closely with Engineering Manager and Quality Manager to ensure continuous improvement objectives and requirements are met.
  • Train users on the correct workings of jigs and fixtures.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Accurately maintain MES system as instructed.
  • Complete task independently from job-list.
  • Maintain neat and clean work area.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Broad knowledge and experience in making and designing jigs.
  • CAD experience necessary to design jigs.
  • Basic computer and writing skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Advanced ability to read and use calipers and micrometers and other measurement instruments.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with various departments on different projects at the same time.


Education and Experience


  • High school diploma and associates degree in a related field and 3-5 years of experience in a similar function.
