Job Description

Maintains clean, sanitary and orderly condition to the assigned exterior/ interior areas of the Medical Center. Provides guidance and direction to Staff.

Job Responsibility



  1. Maintains interior and exterior assigned areas in the Medical Center (i.e. offices, laboratories, bathrooms, public areas, courtyard, etc.) in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition.
  2. Scours and polishes sinks, showers, bathtubs, tiles, and other bathroom equipment.
  3. Sweeps and mops areas, and periodically burnishes and refinishes floors.
  4. Cleans and dusts furniture, windowsills, mirrors, pictures, ceilings doorframes, wall vents, etc.
  5. Polishes furniture and other equipment.
  6. Washes mattresses, beds, and examining tables.
  7. Refills soap and paper goods dispensers, as required.
  8. Operates floor maintenance equipment, i.e., floor Scrubbers and Burnishing machines, wet vacs, etc.
  9. Strips and refinishes floors.
  10. Provides guidance and direction to Staff including: Assigns work to Environmental Service staff. Responds to questions from Environmental Service staff. Responds to question from other department Leaders in the absence of the supervisor Reports to supervisor on performance and progress of Environmental Service staff, as requested.
  11. Timely pick up of trash, medical waste, and soiled linens. May assist in transporting heavy items within the Medical Center.
  12. Performs related duties, as required.*ADA Essential Functions


Job Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Minimum of two (2) years experience as Housekeeping worker, required. Ability to communicate effectively.
