Job Description: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Pre-Pursuit and Pursuit Responsibilities:
- Work with Business Development Manager to develop a pursuit plan once a long-lead opportunity is a GO
- Coordinate with project designer
- Correspond early in the process with vendors and subcontractors
- Develop initial project schedule
- Support and coordinate with the Estimating Department
Preconstruction Project Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the project while in the Preconstruction Stage, under the authority of the Project Manager
- Negotiate and manage the contract with internal stakeholders and with the client
- Manage the design engineer and other design partners
- Manage the execution of preconstruction field elements such as soils investigation, potholing, exploratory excavations
- Coordinate the development of the Pricing with internal and external stakeholders, is the lead in the conversations with the owner
- Coordinate and manage any required fillings (such as GSC)
Construction Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the hand-off from preconstruction
- Stay connected with the project, off-site sponsor/liaison to owner
- Maintain relationship with owner in coordination with Business Development Manager
- Participate in owner meetings to understand how the project is progressing
- Engage at a higher level at the end of the project for lessons learned
Education and Experience:
- Four (4) year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
- Fifteen (15) years construction and/or engineering experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with technical writing and presentations.
- Engineering/Construction/Pre-construction knowledge that facilitates professional written and verbal communication skills during client interactions
- Preconstruction skills including scheduling and budgeting
- Very good organizational skills, able to work on multiple items for multiple clients concurrently
- Persistent, with great time-management skills; able to prioritize activities while working under critical deadlines
- Looks for client solutions
- Microsoft Office and CRM
