SUMMARY

The Information Systems and Technology department is looking for a part-time IT Specialist to assist the department in our growing technology needs. The IT Specialist will assist Marrakech IS&T Department in with end user support for both hardware and software; set up, maintenance and repair of computer systems and associated peripherals, telephone services; developing databases; remote location servicing; and staff training. The IT Specialist maintains records with a ticketing software as well as other forms of documentation such as inventory lists, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide technical assistance and support either in person or remotely for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware as part of help desk responsibilities during regular business hours.
  • Maintain correct documentation in the form of the help desk ticketing system, inventory lists, etc., ensuring all hardware and/or accessories issues to or returned from staff is documented with a signed receipt.
  • Assist in the setup and deployment of devices using Microsoft AzureAD (Entra) and Intune.
  • Aid in maintenance and repair of agency computers. Setup computers and hardware, install software, clean and reformat older computers for future use. Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems. Prepare obsolete systems for removal from service.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all electronic sensitive information and Protected Information (PI) at all times.
  • Participate in evaluating computers and computer components with regard to potential future usefulness.
  • Load specified software packages such as operating systems, office suites, and job-specific software applications onto agency computers.
  • Instruct users in use of computer systems, Office 365, email, file storage, web browsing, etc.
  • Recommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems.
  • Provide updates, status, and completion information to the VP of Information Systems and Technology and the appropriate issue-specific contact person.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Must have own, insured vehicle for use for this position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Excel a must!
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft systems (Microsoft 365 suite, Azure/Entra, Intune) preferred



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SALARY



  • $17.60-$18.00 per hour
