Position Highlights:

  • Sign on bonus: None

  • Position: Shift Lead - Patient Food Services

  • Hourly Pay Range: $18.31 - $25.63. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Location: Arlington Heights, IL

  • Full Time

  • Hours: Rotating day and evening shift availability between 6am-8pm, rotating weekends & holidays

  • Required Travel: None

General Summary:

Reporting to the Cafeteria Supervisor, directs the operation of the hospital cafeteria; oversees sanitation of work areas; supervises and evaluates employees; deposits funds.

  • Supervises Cafeteria Aides and Sanitation Specialists in preparing for and serving meals.

  • Assists in the training and evaluation of employees.

  • Completes Quality Assurance checklists; ensures adherence to standards.

  • Oversees sanitation procedures for Cafeteria Aides and Sanitation Specialists; adheres to hospital and departmental sanitation regulations.

  • Programs cash registers for each meal.

  • Oversees cashiering responsibilities; makes cash deposit; generates cash report and register report.

  • Maintains kitchen equipment; requests preventative and emergency repairs; documents accordingly.

  • Adheres to departmental and hospital safety standards in order to maintain a safe patient care and working environment. Attends mandatory in-service programs.

  • Adheres to hospital's Guest Relations policy.

What you will need:

  • The level of knowledge normally obtained through the completion of four years of high school, or the equivalent.

  • Two years of experience in food service.

  • Sanitation certifications form the IDPH.

  • The interpersonal skills necessary to train and supervise departmental employees.

  • The organizational skills necessary to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.

  • The mathematical skills necessary to prepare cash deposits.

  • The ability to speak, read, and write in English.

  • The ability to work independently.
