Position Summary:
The Transportation Area Manager reports to the Senior Associate Director Operations & Logistics and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a diverse facilities workgroup/service located at Main Campus during evening hours. These workgroups deliver services which include, but are not limited to, management/oversight of evening student transportation services, management of the grounds team, and supervising special events support/logistics.

The Transportation Area Manager will monitor the performance of the University Shuttle Service (FLIGHT) evening bus services with street observations and evaluating performance via digital cloud applications. The Transportation Area Manager will prepare operational performance reports to assess the quality of services delivered and make relevant evaluations regarding their improvement. The Transportation Area Manager will be the front-line supervisor for special evening events. These events include sports and/or ceremonies/conferences that occur during the evening hours. Finally, the incumbent will implement and report on those assignments as deemed necessary by management.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics/Distribution or related field
* Three (3) years of directly related experience with transportation dispatching.
* Experience using software such as Microsoft Office, Orion, Diad or other GPS based systems.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State, and local rules and regulations applicable to transportation.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities
* Experience in supervising operational processes and productivity and directing and conducting field operation activities.
* Knowledge of transportation routing and scheduling.
Strong understanding of cloud based digital dispatch systems and applications.
* Exhibit strong leadership that delineates action and organizational direction while at the same building confidence among others.

Preferred
Experience in equipment maintenance including fleet and mechanized tools.
