The Department of French, Francophone, and Italian Studies at the College of Charleston invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in French beginning August 16, 2025. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in teaching French as a foreign language and a strong commitment to equitable and inclusive teaching.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in French is required at time of appointment. A.B.D. candidates in French, with an expected completion by August 15, 2025, will be considered. Near native proficiency in French and English is required along with teaching experience in lower-level French language classes. The teaching load will be four courses per semester. The position is benefits-eligible, and the salary is competitive.
